Marin Cilic – Roger Federer TIPS, PREVIEW & PREDICTION (28.01.2018)

The Australian Open is at the final at the men’s side. Sunday can start in the very best way with an exciting tennis match early in the morning. 09:30 is the match start for the final between Marin Cilic and Roger Federer.
Of course, it is Swiss that applies as a favorite here. The so-so Roger Federer has managed to get a new spring on his career and suddenly looks rough again. Last season was a bit of a revanche and it really feels like the Swiss builds on it. Fantastic.
On his trip to the final, Roger Federer has made the process short with all opponents. Zero-dropped sets and a very efficient, tempo-changing tennis that resulted in many breaks and easy wins. Tomas Berdych and Richard Gaquet have been toughest so far, but even there the Swiss did the process short. The opponent Hyeon Chung got big pressure in the semifinal and chose to throw in the towel because of injury.
Marin Cilic does not cope
When many great players underperformed in the Australian Open, the Crocodile Marin Cilic has continued on the congested road and has been more effective. Against Rafael Nadal he was lucky that the Spaniard dropped the towel, but he was well in the match. Looking at his trip to the finals, he has had a rather comfortable way, but the fact that he is back in a Grand Slam finale is obviously impressive. However, against Roger Federer it will be very tough.
Our feeling is that a strong serving kroat can very well be good at first and maybe pull a few as far as possible. Once there he can as well win if it would be a tiebreak. On the whole, however, he gets tough to dictate the terms here, but we trust Roger Federer is the one who bases the pace and thus the match.

Our Prediction: Roger Federer win @ 2.20
